Fertig werden / Finishing

Manchmal habe ich das Gefühl, ich würde endlich einfach mal fertig werden. Da sind so viele Dinge zu erledigen, es gibt so viel Angefangenes, was mich dann lähmt, weil ich denke, dass ich nie fertig werde. Nach einiger Zeit gibt sich das und ich entwickle einen Drang zum Handeln. Und dann werden auch Dinge fertig. Zum Beispiel diese Prüfungsklausuren, auf die die nächsten Klausuren folgen oder dieses Tuch, auf das der nächste Teststrick und der zu überarbeitende Teststrick folgt - dann ist da noch ein Ärmel, der geheime Teststrick, auf dessen Anleitung ich warte, mal ganz abgesehen von Projekten, die schon ganz lange auf das Fertigwerden warten. Wir werden sehen, wann es soweit ist.

Sometimes I have the feeling that I simply would like to finish things. There are so many things that need to be done, there are so many things that I have started on, which makes me unable to continue because I believe I will never finish those things. After some time this paralysis goes away and I start acting. And this is when I finish things. For example these final exam papers which are followed by ordinary class assessments or this scarf which is followed by a testknit and a testknit that needs some redoing  - and there is also a sleeve waiting, and this pattern for a secret testknit I am waiting for, putting aside all those project which have been waiting for being finished for such a long time. We will see when their time has come.
